Lights were formed around 2004 in New York City by Sophia Knapp and Linnea Vedder, who led a revolving lineup for six years and two LPs, which are available through Twisted Nerve and Drag City. In 2011 Knapp and Vedder became Cliffie Swan, after which Knapp pursued a solo career.
